The ULPGC Art Gallery, located at the institutional headquarters, will host the talent of emerging artists in 2025, as well as exhibition works by already established artists. Thus, among the most notable, the tribute to one of the most relevant figures in the artistic scene of the Islands, Martín Chirino, will stand out to celebrate the centenary of his birth.

Chirino had and has a strong link with the University as the author of El Pensador, a bronze sculpture made in 2001 that shapes the ULPGC logo and that since 2012 has been displayed in the roundabout at the entrance to the Tafira Campus. The Culture area of the ULPGC is already working together with the Martín Chirino Foundation to offer between April and June this commemorative exhibition of sculpture, photography and drawings, focused on the work and creation processes of the famous Canarian artist, with the double objective of highlight the legacy of essential figures of our artistic heritage and strengthen alliances with local cultural institutions.
