The Voice of Women conference, organized by the Martín Chirino Foundation and coordinated by Dácil Manrique de Lara, aims to explore and highlight the transformative role of women in the cultural construction of the Canary Islands. This event is committed to a perspective that celebrates the unique contribution of women to the community and cultural fabric of our society.
The focus of the project is to promote a dialogue that, without losing sight of our history, allows us to visualize a shared future where female contributions are not only recognized, but enhanced within the framework of an egalitarian and diverse culture. On this occasion, we will address 3 cases where culture serves as an instrument to transform communities from different perspectives. An opportunity to make visible professional women of contemporary culture, who, through their determination, are preserving and transforming the role of culture in the Canary Islands. STRUCTURE The event will take place on March 13, 2025 at the Martín Chirino Foundation, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. 18:00 Interdisciplinary panel: Three guests will share their experiences and reflections (15-20 minutes each) 19:00 Debate and participation 19:30 Closing and networking: The day will close with a social event that will combine art, music and dialogue. This space will be an opportunity to network, foster collaborations and celebrate female talent in all its forms. The music will be performed by emerging Canarian artists, reinforcing the idea of community and cultural celebration.
