We invite you to participate in “The Body that Draws”, a creative event designed especially for children aged 3 to 8, where art and movement come together to awaken the imagination.

To mark the third edition of "The Voice of Women" at the Castillo de la Luz on March 13th, the Martín Chirino Foundation is offering a parallel children's activity designed to complement their development. Participants can enjoy creative activities and workshops related to this year's theme: action, body, and voice, while the main event, not recommended for children under 9, takes place. The program is designed to include young children in cultural activities, adapting the concepts to their pace and age, while also allowing families to enjoy an afternoon of learning and creation.

In this playful space, young children will discover how their own bodies can become tools for graphic expression. Through dynamic exercises, sensory games, and artistic activities, they will explore lines, shapes, colors, and textures using gestures, movement, postures, and rhythms.

Furthermore, we will explore the work of Canarian artist Pino Ojeda, examining her colors, shapes, and artistic sensibility as inspiration for our creations. Through play, experimentation, and interaction with her work, children will learn that drawing is not only done with pencils, but also with the body, space, and emotion.

We will also enjoy reading one of her stories, creating a moment of calm and connection that will serve as a starting point for imagining, feeling, and then expressing what the story inspires in us through our bodies and drawings.

The activity will begin at 5:45 p.m. We will welcome the youngest participants, who can enjoy an audio installation prepared for the day with their families.

Between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., the children will go to the DEAC Space to participate in the activities while their families attend the interdisciplinary panel discussion and subsequent debate. We will have a break, so please feel free to bring a small snack.

At the end of the activity, we invite all families to stay together for the closing ceremony and networking session afterward, and to share their impressions of the day, because every voice enriches the experience, including the children's.

This activity, organized by our Department of Education and Cultural Action, is carried out in collaboration with La Nube Play Group, an outdoor early childhood education project.

Advance booking is essential, as space is limited. The activity is free of charge.
