Artistic Expression Workshops: Exploring Abstract Art
During the month of July, the Martín Chirino Foundation invites you to experience the museum from a playful and participatory perspective, through a series of activities and workshops designed to awaken creativity.
In this edition, we will take as a starting point the temporary exhibition "El Paso. Vanguard and commitment", which will serve as the central axis of the workshops. Through the observation of the different works, we will approach the universe of informalist art and the expressive power of abstract art.
We will meet the artists who made up the El Paso group and we will immerse ourselves in their way of understanding art through gesture, matter and emotion.
The Artistic Expression Workshops: Exploring abstract art are designed to offer a creative, free and personal experience, in which each participant can connect with their own way of creating and feeling art from the premises that we impart to them, taking as a reference the dictates that prevailed in informalism, a current to which the El Paso collective was subjected.
Aimed at families, associations and groups with an interest in sharing an artistic space, these workshops are an opportunity to experiment, express themselves and discover new ways of looking at the world.
Development and procedure of the workshops
At the beginning of each workshop we will take a guided tour of the temporary exhibition "El Paso. Avant-garde and commitment." where the most representative works of artists such as Antonio Saura, Manolo Millares, Luis Feito, Rafael Canogar or Martín Chirino, among others, are brought together.
Once the exhibition has been visited, the open-air workshop will be held with different activities that allow cultural heritage to be valued, creativity and sensitivity to art to be developed, through the experimentation of various techniques and materials.
We encourage families and groups from different fields and social and professional groups to participate in the workshops with a playful character and in a relaxed atmosphere.
