Welcome to the conference "The Voice of Women," presented by the Martín Chirino Foundation in collaboration with Dácil Manrique de Lara. In conjunction with International Women's Day, we have a program of presentations that will seek to inspire and address the role of women in culture, both past and present. Under the title "The Voice of Women: Action, Body, and Voice. Three Ways of Seeing the World," four women from the Canary Islands' cultural sector will meet on March 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES

The conference "The Voice of Women" aims to highlight the work of women who, through their cultural contributions, are actively enriching the cultural life of the Canary Islands. This event offers a space for dialogue that, while remaining mindful of our cultural heritage, invites us to envision a present and a future where women's contributions are an active part of shaping the cultural landscape of the region.

This time, we will explore three cases where culture serves as a tool for transforming communities from different perspectives, because a territory cannot be understood from a single perspective. This is an opportunity to highlight women professionals in contemporary culture who, through their determination, are preserving and transforming the role of culture in the Canary Islands.

This third edition presents a new challenge: to continue along the path of our initial values; to explore and highlight the transformative role of culture, but with the aim of further improving the Women's Voice gatherings so that they become a vibrant, participatory, and emotional experience that not only presents ideas but also inspires, connects, and mobilizes; a truly living experience.
