Family Saturdays March 2026

The Martín Chirino Art and Thought Foundation offers through its Department of Education and Cultural Action (DEAC) a series of educational proposals that are articulated around the dissemination of the work of our Canarian artist. The Foundation's family activities aim to promote interest and respect for cultural heritage through a dynamic and participative visit and to promote a playful vision of the Foundation as an educational cultural space. Through our workshops we aim to encourage the capacity for artistic expression and to involve families in the teaching-learning process of their children, as well as to normalise the relationship between families and the world of art, in such a way that we strengthen the children's desire to learn.

The artistic expression workshops are very diverse and are based on different techniques and materials, from modelling with traditional Canarian clay, through the recycling of cardboard and paper, or stencilling with colours of natural earth from the islands, to working with different drawing techniques. The workshops are held in the space provided for the DEAC.

BOOKING POLICY

Registration and booking of family activities, guided tours and workshops can be done through the form on the same page. In this form you must indicate the chosen day, the number of participants, both adults and children, and finally you must indicate the age of the children at the time of the activity.

The maximum number of places is 25 people and these activities are aimed at children from 5 years, with their families.

CONFIRMATION OF THE ACTIVITY AND PAYMENT

The activities have a cost of 6 euros per participant (includes entrance to the Castillo de La Luz, exhibitions, workshop and materials) to be paid by bank transfer.

GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR FAMILY ACTIVITIES

1. Visitors should arrive at the museum entrance 5 minutes before 10:00 a.m., where they should wait for a person in charge to meet them. In case of delay, please call 928463162.

2. Bags and rucksacks must be kept in the museum lockers during the guided tour. The lockers operate with €1 coins, which are then returned.

3. Before entering the museum, visitors receive a presentation about the visit to be made, as well as a reminder of the rules to be observed during the visit.

4. Guided tours will last 50 minutes and will start at 10.00 am. They will be followed by a 20-minute break. After the break, the artistic expression workshop will begin and will last 1.5 hours.

CANCELLATIONS

If you wish to cancel your visit, please contact us. If you let us know in good time, we will be able to make the spot available for another family.

If the booking is not cancelled 48 hours in advance, the booking fee will not be refunded.
