The Wind, Tribute to the Islands

As of today, the Foundation has a new piece outside the fortress. The Wind, Tribute to the Islands arrives at the Castillo de la Luz as a deposit from the Cardoso Culatto family. This sculpture, forged in 1963/1964, is part of the most iconic series by Martín Chirino, in which the spiral forms allegories of the wind, and which this year will focus the temporary exhibition at the Foundation, Winds, a spiral path towards the origin, which will be open to the public from June 17 to September 17.

The generosity of private collectors who donate their work to bring it closer to the public is a not well known part of public collections, they are usually unique pieces, on permanent loan to an institution so that they can be exhibited to the public. From the Foundation we want to thank the Cardoso Culatto family for their altruism and for allowing us to enjoy this wind indefinitely.
